Link following in VIPRE Antivirus Plus 11.0.6.22 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM through FPQuarTransfer. The FPQuarTransfer method resolves an attacker-created symbolic link during file deletion, allowing deletion of an arbitrary file. Low-privileged code execution on the Windows host is required; controlled file deletion enables privilege escalation to SYSTEM.
