Root code execution via RADVD buffer overwrite
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 20, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in the Router Advertisement Daemon in MikroTik RouterOS allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The daemon fails to validate DNS server data in IPv6 neighbor-discovery messages before writing beyond its allocated buffer. Only RouterOS 6 and 7 devices configured to accept router advertisements are exposed; this uncommon, nondefault condition permits unauthenticated compromise from the same Layer 2 network.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
