Authentication bypass via crafted HNAP login request
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Authentication bypass in D-Link DIR-2640 firmware 1.11B02 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain management access over the adjacent network. The TCP port 80 web interface treats a specially crafted HNAP LoginPassword request as authenticated without validating proper credentials. No account is required, and successful exploitation crosses the management authentication gate and permits authenticated router-management actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=v1.11B02
- Affected versionversion=0 <=v1.11B02 Beta01
