Authentication bypass via crafted PrivateLogin XML
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Authentication bypass in D-Link DIR-2640 firmware 1.11B02 and earlier allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to log in. The HNAP PrivateLogin handler accepts a crafted XML element in a login request and marks authentication successful without valid credentials. Access requires reachability to default TCP port 80; the bypass grants authenticated management control, with no reported data disclosure or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
