Stored script execution via unneutralized Pin descriptions
Published Oct 18, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Stored XSS in Pega Platform 8.1 through 8.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted Pin description. Pin description rendering does not neutralize attacker-controlled markup before placing the stored value into a web page. A normal authenticated user must save the description and another user must view the affected page; script runs within the viewer's browser session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
