Victim-context JavaScript execution via unescaped editor parameter
Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 28, 2025
Reflected XSS in XWiki Platform 2.2-milestone-1 through 14.4.7 and 14.5 through 14.10.3 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. The importinline.vm template inserts the editor and section request parameters into a query string without URL escaping, allowing editor markup to enter the response. Exploitation requires a page containing an attachment and a victim who follows a crafted page URL; the script runs with that victim's XWiki rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
