CVE-2023-32028

Remote code execution via malicious server data

Published Jun 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 1, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in affected Microsoft Visual Studio and OLE DB Driver releases allows attackers to execute code via a malicious server. Microsoft identifies the flaw as a heap-based buffer overflow but has not published the affected function or malformed response field. Exploitation requires user interaction to direct an OLE DB client connection to an attacker-controlled server, after which code runs in the client security context.
