Command execution via unneutralized CSV formulas
Published Jun 22, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
CSV injection in the export feature of Sage X3 12.14.0.50-0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a crafted CSV formula. The export feature writes attacker-controlled formula elements into CSV cells without neutralization, causing Excel or LibreOffice Calc to interpret them as formulas. Exploitation requires Administrator access and a victim who opens the export with reduced spreadsheet security; successful formulas can execute commands or exfiltrate spreadsheet data.
