Database-name disclosure via injectable subject ID

Published May 15, 2023 · Updated Jan 23, 2025

SQL injection in SourceCodester Faculty Evaluation System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to disclose database data via a crafted subject ID. The manage_subject.php handler evaluates the id parameter as SQL syntax; the published request appends an UPDATEXML subquery that exposes the active database name in an error. An administrative session is required, and the published proof of concept demonstrates database-name disclosure rather than broader data modification.
