Account takeover via nonce-free email resend
Published Jul 17, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
CSRF in WPExperts Post SMTP before 2.5.7 allows remote attackers to resend logged email to an arbitrary address via a crafted request. The ps-resend-email AJAX action accepts attacker-chosen id and to POST values without a CSRF nonce, then resends the selected log entry. A user with manage_postman_smtp must submit the request; redirecting a password-reset message grants control of its account.
