CVE-2023-31710Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via oversized TMP packet

Published Aug 1, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in TP-Link Archer AX21 firmware 1.1.4 Build 20230219 allows remote attackers to execute code over the LAN. The TMP packet handler in /usr/lib/libtmpv2.so trusts an attacker-controlled content_length and receives that many bytes into a smaller heap buffer. Network access to the router's LAN is required, and successful exploitation executes attacker-controlled code on the appliance.
