Authenticated script execution via unescaped page parameter
Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Sourcecodester Task Reminder System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via the page parameter. The admin route reflects the page query value into its response without neutralizing JavaScript, causing a crafted reminders/manage_reminder value to be interpreted as script. An attacker needs an application account and a victim must open the crafted URL; successful execution runs in the victim's browser context and can read or alter data available to that session.
