Administrator takeover via unauthenticated account update
Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Sourcecodester Online Computer and Laptop Store 1.0 allows remote attackers to take over an administrator account. The Users.php save action accepts a replayed administrator account-update POST without verifying an authenticated session, allowing the password to be replaced. A network-reachable management endpoint and a correctly formed update request are sufficient; takeover grants access to functions that modify prices and site content.
