Database disclosure and command execution via UsrId injection
Published May 17, 2023 · Updated Jan 22, 2025
SQL injection in MicroWorld eScan Management Console 14.0.1400.2281 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL through UsrId. The GetUserCurrentPwd endpoint concatenates the UsrId value into a backend query without validation, escaping, or parameterization, permitting blind and stacked queries. Valid console credentials are required; successful exploitation reads the SQL Server database and can execute Windows commands through xp_cmdshell under the database service account.
