Authenticated command execution via unsanitized device-add input
Published May 17, 2023 · Updated Jan 22, 2025
Command injection in TP-Link TL-WPA4530 KIT V2 firmware 161115 and 170406 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands. The _httpRpmPlcDeviceAdd management handler fails to neutralize shell metacharacters in request data before constructing a system command. Access to the network management interface and low-privileged credentials is required; injected commands can read or alter data and interrupt service.
