Stored script execution via unescaped Custom CSS
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Stored XSS in tagDiv Composer before 4.2 allows remote authenticated users with Administrator privileges to execute JavaScript in visitors' browsers. The Theme Panel's Custom CSS setting stores an unvalidated, unescaped closing style tag and HTML payload that the site front end renders. An Administrator account is required, and the issue remains reachable when WordPress multisite removes the unfiltered_html capability.
