Unauthenticated stored XSS via unchecked REST CSS write
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Stored XSS in tagDiv Composer before 4.2 allows remote attackers to inject scripts through an unauthenticated WordPress REST request. The tdw/save_css route accepts the compiled_css parameter without authorization or validation and stores it for unescaped output in frontend pages. Loading an affected page executes the stored script in a visitor's browser, enabling content modification and browser-session abuse in that site's origin.
