Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.9 allows remote attackers to crash the database via crafted SQL statements. The SQL optimizer's sqlo_fun_ref_epilogue path incorrectly places a simple function-reference expression as control-condition code, leading execution into dv_compare and a process crash. No authentication or user interaction is required; the bounded consequence is interruption of the database service, not data disclosure or modification.
