Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.9 allows attackers to crash the database with a crafted SELECT statement. A UNION query over information_schema reaches mp_box_deserialize_string with an invalid text pointer and a maximum signed 32-bit length, then dereferences text[0] and triggers a segmentation fault. An attacker must be able to submit the query; successful exploitation terminates the Virtuoso instance and disconnects its clients.
