Database crash via mismatched UNION table creation
Published May 15, 2023 · Updated Jan 23, 2025
Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.9 allows remote attackers to crash the database through crafted SQL statements. A CREATE TABLE AS query combines a three-column table with a one-value UNION ALL row and reaches an invalid __libc_longjmp path that terminates the server. The published reproduction uses the isql client with DBA authentication; the public CVSS assessment nevertheless records no privileges required.
