Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized Mac parameter
Published May 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 27, 2025
OS command injection in Tenda AC5 router 15.03.06.28 allows remote attackers to execute commands via the WriteFacMac Mac parameter. The /bin/httpd WriteFacMac handler passes the POST request's Mac value directly to doSystem, allowing shell metacharacters to alter the command. No authentication or user interaction is required; the web interface must be network-reachable, and exploitation can yield an interactive shell.
