Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted image upload
Published May 8, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Arbitrary file upload in Grocery-CMS-PHP-Restful-API 1.3 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted category image. The /admin/add-category.php handler accepts an image with a modified extension, preserves the attacker-supplied filename, and stores it under /admin/itemimg without an extension allowlist. No privileges or user interaction are required, and an uploaded PHP web shell executes commands with the web server's permissions.
