Browser script execution via unsanitized page fields
Published May 22, 2023 · Updated Jan 21, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Silicon Notes commit a9ef36 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser via crafted page input. Although the CVE labels the flaw reflected, the disclosure shows write() inserting unvalidated title and body values into the pages database before page content is rendered as HTML. Exploitation requires network access to the unauthenticated application and a victim to view the crafted page, enabling script execution in that browser.
