CVE-2023-3155Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file read and deletion via gallery_edit

Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Arbitrary file read and deletion in NextGEN Gallery before 3.39 allows remote authenticated users to access server files through gallery editing. The gallery_edit task accepts an image_list traversal path without validation and relocates the referenced file into a web-accessible gallery. Administrator access and an existing gallery are required; successful exploitation discloses the selected file and deletes its original copy.
