Stored XSS via unescaped gallery title
Published May 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 23, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Alkacon OpenCMS before 11.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser. CmsResultItemWidget.generateTooltipHtml concatenates an uploaded file's Title into gallery tooltip HTML instead of inserting it as text. An Editor can store the payload during file upload, and it runs when another user, including an administrator, loads the file title in folder view.
