Authenticated command execution via SmartQoS parameter
Published May 11, 2023 · Updated Jan 27, 2025
Command injection in Motorola CX2L Router 1.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands over the network. The HNAP1 SmartQoS handler incorporates the smartqos_priority_devices request value into a system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Access to the authenticated management interface is required; injected commands run as root and can fully control the device.
