Authenticated SQL injection via interpolated id parameter
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Online Discussion Forum Site 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries via the id parameter. The posts/manage_post.php handler places the GET id value directly inside a quoted SELECT statement without validation, escaping, or parameter binding. A logged-in forum user can inject SQL through a post-edit request, enabling database reads or changes and service interruption within the application's database privileges.
