Admin-level command execution via poisoned PHP language log
Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Code injection in ZoneMinder 1.36.33 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands through its web interface. The LOG_DEBUG_FILE setting accepts an unrestricted path, enabling a PHP log in the language directory to be poisoned through the Home View field and included as a user's language. Access to logging and user settings is required, and the included file runs attacker-supplied PHP as the web-server account.
