Recovery password disclosure via unchecked domain identifier
Published Aug 17, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Credential disclosure in Zoho ManageEngine ADManager Plus 7182 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read recovery passwords. The ConfigureRecoverySettings/GET_PASS endpoint accepts a caller-controlled domainId and returns the account-restoration password without verifying the technician's recovery privileges for that domain. Any authenticated help desk technician can enumerate other domain IDs and obtain passwords usable against restored Active Directory accounts if those passwords remain unchanged.
