Wi-Fi key disclosure via unauthenticated mesh endpoint
Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025
Information disclosure in GL.iNet router firmware 3.215 and earlier allows remote attackers to read the Wi-Fi SSID and key. The /api/router/mesh/status endpoint remains in the unauthenticated endpoint set and returns those values in its JSON response. Default firewall rules limit access to the LAN; internet exposure requires a nonstandard configuration permitting WAN access to the web interface.
