Authenticated node crash via crafted search query

Denial of service in Elastic Elasticsearch 7.0.0 through 7.17.12 and 8.0.0 through 8.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to crash nodes. The _search API processes crafted match-query strings without preventing the resulting stack exhaustion; the published exploit amplifies an oversized message value. Low-privilege API access is required, and successful requests can terminate availability of an affected node without disclosing or modifying data.
