Password disclosure via weak hash generation
Published Aug 24, 2023 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Weak hash generation in SICK AG LMS5xx all firmware versions allows remote attackers to recover a password from a retrieved hash. SICK has not disclosed the hash algorithm, storage locus, or method by which an attacker retrieves the hash. Exploitation requires access to the hash; successful recovery exposes the protected password without affecting integrity or availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
