Stored XSS via unescaped archived email subjects
Published Aug 30, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Pierre Lannoy MailArchiver 2.10.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts via email subjects. The archive viewer inserts an attacker-controlled subject from a stored outbound email into its administrative page without output escaping. Exploitation requires another site feature, such as a public contact form, to place attacker input into an outbound email and an administrator to view the archived message; the script then runs in that user's WordPress session.
