CVE-2023-31352

Privileged guest-memory disclosure via undisclosed SEV firmware flaw

Published Feb 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

A flaw in AMD EPYC 9004 SEV firmware allows local users to read unencrypted guest memory and disclose private data. AMD has not published the specific SEV firmware locus or the erroneous operation that exposes plaintext memory. Exploitation requires host-level privileges, and AMD states that server-class Genoa systems are exposed only when CXL-connected memory is present.
