CVE-2023-31308

Guest-triggered service interruption via SMU out-of-bounds read

Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the SMU of AMD Radeon PRO V620 allows guest OS users to interrupt GPU service via a malicious virtual function. Certain SMU command handlers use a virtual-function-supplied array index without ensuring that it identifies a valid array element. Low-privileged code in a guest VM must control a virtual function; the documented consequence is availability loss without confidentiality or integrity impact.
