Improper authentication in Sierra Wireless AirVantage allows remote authenticated users to register and control unregistered devices. The platform accepts device registration information without sufficient proof of ownership when the device management service remains enabled. The attacker needs that information for an unregistered device, then gains configuration, management, and AT-command access.
