CVE-2023-31274Network attack vector

Partial denial of service via message-subsystem memory leak

Published Jan 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Resource exhaustion in AVEVA PI Server 2023 and 2018 SP3 P05 and earlier allows remote attackers to throttle new archive events. AVEVA identifies a memory leak in the PI Message Subsystem but does not disclose the request type or code path that fails to release memory. Port 5450 reachability and no authentication are required; exhaustion throttles new PI Data Archive events without a reported crash.
