CVE-2023-3127

Unauthenticated administrator access via undisclosed authentication flaw

Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

Improper authentication in Johnson Controls iSTAR controller firmware before 6.9.2 CU01 allows remote attackers to gain administrator rights. Johnson Controls has not published the affected authentication locus or the operation that accepts an unauthenticated login. Access requires adjacent-network reachability and high-complexity conditions, but successful exploitation grants administrative control of physical-access controllers.
