Unauthenticated code execution via Host header overwrite
Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Memory corruption in uC-HTTP 3.01.01 allows remote attackers to execute code by sending an HTTP request with a crafted Host header. The HTTPsReq_HdrParse path permits a Host value equal to HostNameLenMax, then writes a null byte one byte past HostPtr and corrupts a heap free-list pointer. An unauthenticated attacker needs network access to an enabled HTTP server and suitable heap allocation state; successful exploitation permits arbitrary memory writes and code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
