Unauthenticated administrative access via missing admin account
Published Sep 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Authentication bypass in Open Automation Software OAS Platform 18.00.0072 allows remote attackers to obtain administrative access. The OAS Engine accepts privileged protobuf requests without checking credentials when no admin application user exists or an unsaved admin configuration is lost after restart. A valid authentication structure is still required, and the access permits user creation and can be chained to reach the underlying host.
