CVE-2023-31166Network attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary directory creation via path traversal

Published May 10, 2023 · Updated Jan 24, 2025

Path traversal in the SEL RTAC Web Interface allows remote authenticated users to create folders anywhere in the device file system. SEL identifies the affected locus as the web management interface, but neither SEL nor the reporting researcher discloses the request handler or pathname-validation error. A valid session is required; the demonstrated consequence is limited to directory creation, with no reported file read, overwrite, code execution, or service interruption.
