Arbitrary file write via unchecked tar paths

Path traversal in Greenplum Database before 6.22.3 allows attackers to write arbitrary files through a crafted GPPKG archive. The GPPKG extraction path in gpMgmt/bin/gppylib/operations/package.py passed every tar member directly to tarfile.extractall without verifying that its resolved path remained under the temporary extraction directory. Exploitation requires processing a malicious package, and writes are limited to files accessible to the Greenplum process, allowing data or system files to be overwritten and the service to crash or malfunction.
