Code execution via S0 decryption overflow
Published Jun 21, 2023 · Updated Dec 9, 2024
Stack buffer overflow in S0 decryption in Silicon Labs Unify Gateway 1.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via Z-Wave. The S0 decryption path reads and writes beyond a stack buffer while processing Z-Wave input; the published record does not name the function or field. No credentials or user interaction are required, but the attacker must be within Z-Wave radio range, and successful exploitation compromises gateway execution.
