Authenticated user-data disclosure via unchecked shortcode
Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Jose Vega Display custom fields 1.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read other users' profile data. The display_object_data_shortcode function processes vg_display_data object identifiers without a capability check, allowing selection of another user's fields. Contributor-level access is required, and the documented consequence is disclosure of profile data rather than modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
