File modification via writable theme directories
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Incorrect default permissions in TSplus Remote Access 16.0.2.14 and earlier allow local users to modify desktop theme files. The installer grants Everyone Full Control over directories beneath %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\TSplus\UserDesktop\themes, permitting unprivileged writes to session content. Exploitation requires local filesystem access; public records do not establish which modified theme file is executed or the resulting privilege boundary.
