CVE-2023-3105Network attack vector

Authenticated administrator takeover via unchecked reset username

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

An insecure direct object reference in LearnDash LMS 4.6.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to change arbitrary account passwords. The reset handler verifies the activation key only while rendering the form, then trusts the posted hidden username when setting the new password. Any logged-in account can exploit a page containing the ld_reset_password shortcode or block to seize an administrator account and control the site.
