CVE-2023-31036Network attack vector

Code execution via model-load path traversal

Published Jan 12, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Relative path traversal in NVIDIA Triton Inference Server before 2.40 allows remote authenticated users to access paths outside the model directory. The model load API resolves attacker-supplied relative paths without confining access to the configured model directory. The issue requires nondefault explicit model control and enables data disclosure or tampering, service interruption, privilege escalation, or code execution.
