CVE-2023-31035

SMM code execution via SMI callout

Published Jan 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 30, 2024

Improper input validation in NVIDIA DGX A100 SBIOS before 1.25 allows local users with high privileges to execute code at SMM level. The faulty SMI path performs a callout while executing in SMM, but NVIDIA has not disclosed the specific handler, input, or validation error. Exploitation requires high privileges and high complexity; successful use can expose information, interrupt service, or escalate privileges.
