CVE-2023-31030

Unauthenticated code execution via host KVM stack overflow

Published Jan 12, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in the NVIDIA DGX A100 BMC before 00.22.05 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted packet. NVIDIA identifies the locus as the host KVM daemon but has not disclosed the parser, field, or unchecked operation that lets packet data overflow its stack buffer. No credentials or user interaction are required, but access must satisfy NVIDIA's local attack-vector rating; exploitation can execute code, interrupt service, disclose information, or alter data.
