Local privilege escalation via named-pipe impersonation
Published Nov 2, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Improper access control in NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows allows local users to impersonate a named-pipe client's security context. The wksServicePlugin.dll named-pipe server fails to restrict connecting clients correctly, allowing adoption of a connecting client's security context. A low-privileged local account is required; successful exploitation grants the access associated with the impersonated client context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
